X52DF-S2.0

WinGD (Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd) has introduced the new X52DF-S2.0 short piston stroke that is ideal for vessels with a shallow draught, small propeller diameter or low main deck height. Thanks to the new design the engine is the optimum choice for several vessel segments such as container feeders, RORO and CONRO vessels, multipurpose cargo vessels and vehicle carriers.

The X52DF-S2.0 engine has a cylinder bore diameter of 520 mm and a piston stroke of 2,045 mm, with a maximum continuous power of 1500kW/cylinder at 120 rpm. The engine will be available with five to eight cylinders configuration being able to cover a power range of 4,425-12,000 kW at 85-120 rpm.

Further optimising the standard X-DF portfolio, WinGD now offers X-DF2.0 technology providing reductions to both fuel consumption and methane slip in gas mode. iCER – the Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling system, is the first application of X-DF2.0.

iCER offers:

- Significant energy consumption reduction in both gas and diesel mode

- Up to 50% reduction of methane slip

The X52DF-S2.0 fulfils Tier III emission requirements without any external exhaust gas after treatment system when operating in gas and diesel mode (Tier III compliant in diesel mode when iCER is running).
