EEXI Power Limitation

SECURE EEXI COMPLIANCE IN ONE PORT VISIT

WinGD offers a simple, cost-effective software solution to the International Maritime Organization’s Energy Efficiency Existing Ships Index (EEXI), which requires that vessels meet design efficiency limits by the end of 2023.

With our solution for all electronically controlled WinGD, Sulzer and Wärtsilä two-stroke engines (using WECS-9520 and UNIC control systems), vessels can be compliant within a single port visit with no engine downtime – avoiding expensive retrofitting, schedule disruption and ensuring that operators sidestep any installation backlog at yards.

A SIMPLE SOFTWARE SOLUTION

The EPL uses the engine control system to set a maximum engine power output in line with EEXI regulations. It includes the option to override the power limitation in emergencies, following IMO guidance on qualifying situations and reporting.

Just two simple elements are needed:

  1. Software update to engine control system
  2. EPL override switch (and associated cabling)

DELIVERED BY OUR ENGINE EXPERTS

As the engine designer, WinGD knows which parameters to tune to reach EEXI compliance while maintaining maximal fuel efficiency, with zero impact on maintenance and operation.

Through experience gained across our engines in service, we can hone our proprietary control systems  without risk of disruption to engine performance or operations and understanding engine, engine room and vessel layouts for the simplest, quickest and most reliable installation.

INSTALL WHEREVER YOUR VOYAGE TAKES YOU

Whatever trade you are operating, there is a port location where WinGD will organize qualified on board service attendants to install our solution in line with your vessel schedule.

A single service engineer visit timed to align with your port visit duration is all you need to safeguard your vessel’s EEXI compliance.

TAKE YOUR FIRST STEP TO LOWER EMISSIONS

The EPL solution does not affect engine performance or emissions. It provides an EEXI-approved design baseline for the operational greenhouse gas emission reductions that will be required under IMO’s Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII).

WinGD delivers a solutions ecosystem  that helps vessels achieve compliance with future emission regulations in line with the regulatory timeframe and across the vessel lifecycle, including future fuel retrofits, multiple hybridisation options and continuous digital optimisation.

WinGD’s adaptable software-based EEXI solution ensures that future steps to reduce emissions are not affected by compliance measures taken today.
