WinGD CEO Klaus Heim spoke to Riviera Maritime Media Managing Editor John Snyder at the SMM fair in Hamburg in September 2022. Top of the agenda was how WinGD is preparing its engine portfolio for the use of alternative fuels like methanol and ammonia.
The X-DF engine is the ideal fuel flexible platform, explained Mr Heim, with a proven dual-fuel track record over six years and the ability to adapt to whichever combustion process best suits the new fuels whether that is low-pressure admission used in gas mode, or high-pressure injection used in diesel mode.
